How much does Salesforce development cost in 2026?
Short answer: a basic Sales Cloud implementation for a small team costs $15,000–50,000, one custom integration $5,000–30,000, and ongoing support $3,000–8,000 a month at partner rates. Below are the published ranges by type of work and provider, and what moves the price.
Hourly rates by provider type
| Provider | Hourly rate (USD) | Notes |
|---|
| Salesforce consulting partner, US | $150–250 | Certified developers; a full-time equivalent works out at $290,000+ a year |
| UK consultancy day packages | £81–94 per hour | 2–6 days a month; the rate drops with more days |
| Freelance developer, US, certified | $60–120 (average about $95) | Entry $25–50, mid $50–100, senior or architect $100–200 |
| Offshore team | $13–50 | Admin outsourcing is advertised from $500 a month |
| EU studio (Limara Labs) | about €75–90 effective, sold as fixed prices | See our price list on the Salesforce page |

What moves the price
- Number of clouds and users: a second cloud (Service, Marketing, CPQ) usually doubles the scope.
- Data: migrating from one spreadsheet is a day; merging three legacy systems with duplicates is weeks.
- Integrations: each external system adds design, error handling and monitoring, so count them before asking for a quote.
- Declarative versus code: Flows are cheaper to build and change than Apex; good partners use code only where Flows run out.
- Who holds the pen: a vague brief is quoted with a risk margin; a written scope with sample records is quoted tight.
- Where the team sits: the same work costs 2–3x more from a US partner than from a nearshore EU team, mostly salaries, not quality.
Worked example: a 40-user org that needs about 60 hours a month
| Option | Cost per year | What you get |
|---|
| Hire a UK admin | about £60,000–85,000 (salary £45,000–65,000 plus employer costs and recruiting), 2–4 months to start | One person, admin skills, holidays and sickness uncovered, no developer |
| Consulting partner retainer | $48,000–96,000 ($4,000–8,000 a month) | Admin and developer hours, often a rotating team |
| Freelance contractor at $95 per hour | about $68,000, if available every month | One person, no backup |
| Limara Labs Support · Growth | €54,000 (€4,500 a month, 60 hours) | Same admin, developer and PM every month, stop with 30 days' notice |
How to get a fixed quote instead of an hourly estimate
- Write down the five things users complain about most and the three reports leadership asks for.
- List every system Salesforce must talk to, with a sample record from each.
- Give the vendor read access to a sandbox. Anyone quoting without looking at the org is guessing.
- Ask for the quote per item, so you can start with the two that pay back fastest.
Want a fixed quote for your org? Start with the €1,500 health check or send us the list above.
